By friday it was looking like I'd be able to get to the boat shed. I could hear the Kokanee beating on the underside of the ice, so I dropped the plow off the truck.
The good Lord, seeing my brashness, gave me a resounding and specific answer. 7" of new snow!! The rails and foofs were snow free on friday, but yesterday afternoon it looked like this, with a clear sky.

This is that same deck last spring with my wife's "raised" Montana Bluebirds. She feeds mealworms to the parents evry year and we get maybe 15 youngsters between three clutches.
They're so tame they actually sit on her when she's out on the deck.
