Hope this helps. No Kokes to my Knowledge. Lots of skiers.

Billy Clapp Lake is formed by Pinto Dam which is part of the Columbia Basin Project. Lands around the 1,010 acre lake are included in a wildlife reserve program. Access is limited. Summer Falls State Park, on the north end of the lake, is open for day use. The Department of Wildlife provides public access and the only boat ramp at the south end. Angling opportunities include yellow perch, crappie, rainbow trout, and walleye. Fishing season year-round.

Hello all!
I am new to the forum. Enjoyed reading everyone's posts for a while and decided "what the heck" and joined. I really enjoy fishing for the kokes, just don't get to do it as much as I would like (work seems to get in the way a lot).
I do have a question though:
My family and I have been going to Suttle lake for about 15 years in April-May and use to just sack 'em until a few years ago. The fishin' really fell off for us. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what happened to Suttle? Or did we just forget how to catch fish.

Have fun out there!
Greg

I grew up on Riffe from the time i could walk and can still pull limits off when some say its dead. I've been fishing American for the last 6 years and I have it pretty dialed in. If anyone has Riffe questions Would be more than happy to help, it seems like its not a very easy to figure out lake for alot of people due to its size.

Method: Trolling for salmon and Koks, Fly fishing for trout and steelhead
Boat: Parker 1801 CC

Spent many years in my youth chasing salmon in the salt with my father. Then almost exclusively Steelhead with a fly rod all over Washington, Oregon and BC. This lead to really getting into fly tying, even the classics, thus the "Kelson".
Got interested in smelling the salt air again and bought a boat.....then it happened, I got addicted to kokanee. Fun and tasty!

Kelson, nice to see another Seattle angler on here. You should check out lake Cavenaugh in south Skagit or maybe North Snohomish county. It is a HOT KOKE lake. Temps need to warm up a bit though. PM me if you ever want to wet a line. (I just hitched up the boat....and now it is snowing and blowing like crazy). Back in the garage it goes!

Thanks for the welcome. I do love chasing (and eating) these fish. I greatly enjoy working on new lure/dodger designs and get after them fairly hard until the salt heats up. I will keep you posted on my success and may take you up on a trip QF. Fish On. K

Welcome gentlemen,

Yes it is nice to see more guys farther up North. Cavanaugh is a good lake and Samish farther north should be another hot spot this season too.

Good luck out there guys and hopefully we'll meet out on a lake in the future.

Welcome to the group. I use the Jack of Diamonds gang gear with a red bladed wedding ring not more than 18" behind it. Tip with a small piece of salad shrimp. 1oz. lead at ~ 40 pulls. I fish the inlet by the Swoffard dam to the next point then straight across the lake. I've had good luck by the dam also. So you just takes your pick.See you up there, look for a stilleto with a blue top.
