    Default Strawberry 6/9/16

Late start, got on water at 10:00am fished from dam to narrows, worked hard tried just about every color. Caught 7 Kokes, 5 cuts , and 2 rainbows. 2 Kokes were about 18 inches, the rest 12 to 14 inches. Very windy, the water temp had raised 7 degrees to 62.7 in just one week. Fish scattered from 10 to 35 ft.

Thanks for the report , Blackg49. I can't get back up there until next week. Glad you had some luck.

I had thought about going until I was reminded at work that Saturday was free fishing day. I'll wait.

I was there Thursday as well. Lines down to 12 & 15 feet and 50 feet behind the boat at about 7:30 AM. Picture perfect weather for trolling.

Caught and kept my limit by 9:30. The first one was 2.1 lbs and the other 3 came in at about 1.5 lbs each. I also caught a nice chunky 16" rainbow that did NOT have a tag (bummer). It was released immediately.

Here is what was working for me with the orange one on the left accounting for 3 of the 4 kokanee caught and the rainbow. I've been adding the 'Spin-N-Glow' for about 4 years now and they work well on the Gorge as well as Porcupine.

A grand day and all 4 fish will be making a trip to my smoker this week.

We are in a lull again with this unpredictable weather system moving thru. Mid week is looking good for a get away day to the Berry.

    Default Strawberry side 6-14-2016

My trip to the BERRY- it started out like gang busters. Launched out of Strawberry Bay marina into the fog. By the time I get to where I wanted slowly the fog was lifting and burning off. After setting both rigs had a double within 3min. Set another rig out and 4min later a 3rd koke to the box. I'm thinking now I'll be heading home very shortly, but that wasn't to be. About an hour later I caught a slot cutty-released. That last koke I had to work for. About the time the wind came up at 11:30 my last rod was singing, reel me in reel me in. My final limit of kokes was there. By the time I get things secured the wind was really cranking out some nautical velocity, 2ft swells white caps everywhere. Kokes were at or near 2lb class and feisty. Pink was the go to color. Water temp was 55 when I first started and 60 when I departed.
