Default Berry Bound 1 July Service

Haven't been up for a week, so we're Berry bound Wednesday evening for a sunrise service with Bride Strawberry on the horizon.

Any one been doing good on any 4+ pounders? Last full moon was overcast and we did very well with the go to Orange RMT dodger and Squid set ups. Going to throw some Orange and pink Serpent Spoons at em. This years best was 3.5 lb Koke, and lots of 2.5 -3 lb "cooler worthy" fish. We need to register for the DAV event and need to pre-fish for success. Only took vets in the past trolling for bows, but my new addiction to Koke has consumed me.

Any info appreciated, Vets catching some nice salmon would be very nice....

The 6.3 lb Koke is in there this year I can feel it!

I went up to Strawberry Bay on Monday June 29th. Fished from 6:15 a.m. to noon & caught 12 fish total. We kept 5 kokes, the balance were slot cutts. The biggest koke was 4 lbs 4 oz, three others were 2.5 lbs, the last was 1.5 lbs. We never did key in on any particular color. I think we caught all 12 on a different set up. The koke fishing died at 9:00 a.m. for us. We caught the kokes at 20 feet in depth & everything else from 15 to 40 feet.

Not that this should affect the koke fishing; however, there were zillions of insect hulls floating on the surface. There must of been a heck of a hatch the day before.

While at the fish cleaning station, one guy was cleaning 12 really nice rainbows - 3 to 3.5 pounds a piece. He stated that he was fishing Bryants Fork with green power bait & the fishing was extremely good. My recommendation for the vets, try koke fishing early & transition to rainbows as the morning progresses. Good Luck!

I always try to target 1.7 mph - GPS. With the wind it varies between 1.5 & 2.0 mph.
