We made a Paulina Lake trip Tuesday through Thursday. I fished Wednesday afternoon at the Red Rock slide and jigged up a few Kokanee and lost a bunch. Pink and white jigs worked best at 30' in 60-80 feet of water. Thursday early morning I fished the drop off near the Lodge and caught some very nice 14" Kokanee in 35' water near the 200' level. I used a watermellon sling blade with an orange and silver spin glow with red and green beads. That worked for a while then I changed to a pink/glow hoochie. Garlic corn was the flavor of the day. My trolling motor battery lost power and I hung it up. the wind started to pick up and i decided to collect my bounty and head on in. A lot of big boats speeding all over the lake. sounded like marine stadium in Long Beach Califa.
Good time all in all. will return after the july 4 madness is over.
Thanks for the good tips Silver Bullet. All is well on the Umpqua. Adios
