    Default Late season advice

I am fishing Nantahala lake in North Carolina. Yep, we have kokanee. The season started great with lots of fish at 25 feet but the fish have been more difficult to catch. I see the fish scattered from 30-65 feet down. I have been fishing pink/red, greens and having the best luck lately on violet. This is all spinners lately. Should i be using bug/micro baits, Apex lures? I fish 4 lures/dodgers on two downriggers. Help!!!

I have free advise the waters warmed up the fish have gone deeper to that thermocline area level were there is more oygen / when you fish deeper your color spectrum changes your purple/Violet color work best at 35/60 ft level also the clearity of the lake important. It know about figuring out what colors they want/could be uv product may work better at that dept. Trolling speed is important also good luck

I highly recommend trying different lures than just spinners. Spinners are great, but not all the time and not on all bodies of water.

That being said, I have a hunch that sockeyes (and kokanee) become more active on red colors as their bodies start to redden for spawning. Might be the answer for you. Good luck!

Try hoochies in the orange color or just beads with a short leader behind a dodger some where around 10". And go deep I would go after the ones that are at 60' or so. Good luck hope this helps.

This is the time of year to switch over to GLOW Power and lures that have action like Apex, Spin & Glow, Large Blade Spinners.
The fish are more agressive now & running deeper so give them something that they can see!

I went out today. Saw lots of fish around 50 feet. Some in new places and some on the same marks. Caught one trout on the only color catching anything violet. Got some new dodgers today. One Pline gold, one blue / purple and a Vance's copper blue. Any advice on dodger selection and the time of day, overcast or clear?
I run four baits on two downriggers. Any advise? Time of day? Solunar forecaster? Speed? Scents? The have gone off the bite. I need the super secret tricks. Thanks for your help.
