I plan to be at Shelter cove Friday evening. Where will the event take place?
I would like to make a trip to Merwin tomorrow for the first time this season. What is the report on water level and how has the fishing been lately? Is the day use open at Cresap?
I was there on Sunday and saw a couple like that too. One was by the floating toilets. When we trolled by and where turning around we had three fish on at once. Landed two of them. We where running...
What I noticed is that the meat wasn't as pink as they get later on. They still tasted pretty good.
Alright thanks, the limit at Green Peter where I usually fish is 25. But then they don't ever get too big. Some other lakes they are counted as trout and there is a five fish limit.
We fished Sunday from 9-3. landed 9 koks and 1 rainbow. Three lines out. Two on downriggers and one long line. Tried a number of different things, but the silver and red wedding ring with corn did...
I'll be interested in your report. By the way, what is the daily limit at Berryessa? Also any idea what an out of state licence would cost me? And can you troll with more than one line per person?
Thankyou to both TK and SuperD for the info. I may well have more questions. I hope the fishing picks up soon. If I come down it probably wont be before late April or early May. Hopefully the bite...
I'm still thinking about making a trip down to Berryessa from Oregon so I was doing some research online about the boat ramps and campgrounds etc. It sounds like some of the places are closed down...
I would like to see Berryessa. I've never been there, but I guess I should hold up a little longer. Since I will need to plan ahead for a trip like that, would mid April be a good time? Any...
I'm feeling the urge to do some fishing. Where I usually go here in Oregon it won't be good for a while yet. If I wanted to make a trip to California where and when would it be good? Any tips?
I have the trollmaster as well. Put it on my honda 8hp. Works great. The trollmaster and a simple rod between my main outboard and the kicker I'm able to sit up front where I can see the fishfinder...
Check out Kent Cannon's web site. He gives some good info on Detroit as well as other lakes. kentcannon.com I always did well for trout on both sides of the island with a ford fender and wedding...
Should have been there on Saturday. Just Kidding. We camped at Sunnyside and fished Fri, Sat, and Sunday. Our best day was on Saturday. We had more wind to deal with but caught some really nice ones....
I did go back up to GP on Sunday. Took a couple grand kids along. My fish finder did work, but I sure wasn't finding too many fish. Caught some rainbows, but only put one Kokanee in the boat. At...
I think we where about 50/50 on rainbows and Koks. Don't know why. Since my FF wasn't working we just fished about 20-25 ft in areas that I've caught fish before. Mostly just dumb luck I guess. I...
It was a nice day today up at Green Peter till the wind came up around 11:00. Still nice but hard to troll in the wind. Quite a few boats out for a weekday. Thistle Creek parking lot was 3/4 full...
Nice looking fish. Great report. I want to go there too!
Thanks for the help. I'll check it out a little closer and maybe I should read the manual again. This weekend when I go fishing again I'll turn off the fish ID and check the settings again.
The fish symbols are there, but I can still see everything else on the sonar as well. The bigger issue is really that sometimes the FF is showing the DR balls as the bottom. I was in 200 ft of water,...
Thanks for the tip Bduck. I'm pretty sure my fishfinder has the option to view in arches although I haven't set it that way yet. I like having the fish ID as well as the fish alarm on but I'll try...
I've used my new walker downriggers a couple of times now. So far they have worked great. I had never fished with downriggers before so it is a little hard for me to compare them to other makes....
I was surprised too by the number of boats on the lake. A week ago friday was different . We where first out and wondered if we where nuts with snow at thistle creek. It turned out to be a nice day...
Here are the four larger fish I caught on Sat. I filited the one after watching the video that kokaneekid posted on fileting kokanee. It was a big help to me. I need a little more practice, but it...
I was up at Green Peter yesterday also. We where fishing mostly across the lake from the island and to the island and back. Picked up 8 Kokanee and a couple rainbows. We didn't start too early,...
