Daiwa makes a really nice ultralight Kokanee Rod (Spinmatic model #762ULFB) We have 4 of these and they are the first rods I pick for Kokes. They are tough and load up prefectly in the Down Riggers....

Yup, That's a small Rainbow trout. I knew something was wrong. I've never seen a Koke that didn't have orange flesh.

I'm not sure why the meat is so white. Maybe it's not a Kokanee. Every Koke I've ever caught or seen has been orange.

We don't lose very many at all either. I bet these guys are using wedding rings with single hooks or some other kind of lure with a single hook to have that kind of hooked/lost ratio.

We've caught Kokes the last couple years at LP fishing for trout in late October from shore. We had them jumpimg all around us for a few days. Pink spinners were the ticket.

That's a great reel if you are going to use it for things other than just Kokes. IMHO is way overkill for just Kokes but it's a darn nice reel.

I'll have to get back to you on that one. My Wife makes the brine I just smoke. Check here and online though as I've seen several brines I'd like to try.

On the smaller Kokes the pin bones just dissapear when you smoke them. You can feel them in the fillets when they go into the smoker but they just seem to vanish. I like to smoke mine a bit longer...
