Bridge lake has good Kokanee, but can be windy also. Horse lake as well.
As long as you know, and have the power to get off in a headwind, its good.
Its pretty common for animals to grow a weird antler on one side, if they've had an injury to the opposite side of their body.
I have all the ice you could want here. After last couple days of -40C, better bring a drill extension.
telling ya, motion activated sprinklers to keep the at bay....
I have a "deer patch" of good alfalfa, clover, grasses, grazing for them, and the vegetable gardens are guarded by a Scare Crow. Two...
I get out om my little lake occasionally, Ten Mile, near Quesnel same routine, same lures. Bought a down rigger and have been trying one line just a 000 flasher and lure, and the same rig down...
I tried using braid, to darn hard to see to tie a knot in, in a rocking boat, forgot my glasses, after a few pops, and cold fingers....
Good shooting!
I'll get one more afternoon, getting frosty here at night, so I'll be in before sundown....
Even if the fish won't touch them, they look way cool to me!
Really cool.
I'd love to have my own hatchery, I live a mile from a river that used to be, (Still is..) perfect spawning river, pretty much dead now, even with the current massive Sockeye return...
I was down on the Island a couple weeks ago with a couple friends, limited out on Springs and Hali off the West Coast.... Couple guys are out for the Sockeye opening, one tried my Spin'n'glo on a...
Hey Brad,
Good to see another Canuck here! I'm up in Quesnel.
Congrats on the land purchase! You'll do real well on it and its a great place to get away to. I know a couple guys that go down...
That's what I use. They work great on anything bigger than a robin. Kinda pricey, but it beats the hell out of having pie plates and plastic bags hanging from your trees.

Never trust a fart.
I really recommend you do try if you have a dehydrator, and if not, its a good reason to buy one.
Current g/f has a dehydrator, http://www.londondrugs.com/MSIB20/ProductImages/4370235_large.jpg
and we've tried drying some fish a couple times now.
Filleted 4-5 fish and cut all the little...
Took a knife to it and cut that stuff off the reel. Put 100yds of 8lb Mono back on. Went out yesterday in the mid day heat caught a couple and a couple more got off. Lots of ski boat traffic so it...
Well it looks like thats going to happen. I tried casting at some large rainbows I could see in shallow water with the level wind. Two good casts and one good rats nest.
The g/f caught nice koke...
Well I loaded my light rod's level wind with 150yds of 6lb test. Wow its sure tough stuff and slippery. The box the line came in had the instructions to tie the palomar knot, so thats what I used....
I get that all the time. No rhyme nor reason, one rod will always catch more or bigger fish than the other.
My theory is: Some days the hang to the left, some days they hang to the right.
Wow thanks for the info! I didn't really get what ya'll meant by jigging. To me jigging is a stationary, straight down thing. I've cast fished like you described for trout and salmon, but wasn't...
I've only tried jigs a couple of times, never with success. Would like to figure out how, as there's a few places there's always schools in this lake. Still do the slow troll with the flasher and a...
Went out again last week on a nice calm day and it was much more enjoyable. Its a small lake so I feel pretty comfortable and never more than 300-400yds from shore. Took a bit to get the hang of...
Hooked a nice 2 pounder yesterday evening, g/f took a couple pics.
