Thanks for the update Lunddude. I was afraid that over population was the culprit. Reminds me of Dworshak years ago. I agree that we need to keep our legal catches but problem is that it won't...
I could not open the attachment. Anyone else have the same problem? Thanks.
I'd be very interested to hear what the biologist says. From past experience I know an over population can cause small fish because of a lack of food. Not sure if that is whats going on here...
Hit Anderson this morning. Water level is VERY low. Not sure I've seen it this low before. Got a late start and we were on the water by 8:30. Fished until 3:00 and only boated 16 fish. We lost...
elkbowhntr,
How was the air temp up there? Usually still pretty cold I think. Are the boat launch docks in place yet? Nice haul of fish though even if small. Thanks for the report!
I will. He is in Texas now getting a Masters in cattle ranch management. Doing very well and appears to have a very nice job lined up as soon as he graduates. Good to hear retirement is treating...
I normally don't try Anderson until at least mid to late May depending on how quickly the weather warms up.
Bduck,
It's been a while. Hows retired life treating you? Been fishing yet this year? Will try Anderson Ranch maybe end of this month IF weather will warm up a little by then. Right now trying...
Kokanee_Slayer,
Congrats on your retirement and thank you for your service. Yes, I was working at MHAFB but retired last year after 30 years in the USAF. I was in CMS and knew/worked with many...
Thanks. Don't think I'll venture up that way.
Anyone know if they have pulled the boat launch docks yet?
Me and the wife fished the 27th and 28th and only boated 13. Lost probably about the same amount. They are not biting yet like they were last year. I tried Hoochies, Assassin Spinners, Wedding...
We were in Moscow this last weekend and the Little Salmon River was raging big time. All waters we drove by were way way up. Saw a few people trying to fish on Sunday but not sure how they were...
Welcome Bigggcountry. Looking forward to hearing from you on your outings.

I agree with Bogey. I have one and it works fairly well but not as well as I thought it would. I thought I wouldn't need quite as much anchor line for a proper hook up but really not much different...
I've not had any experience with that type of rig. For kokanee I don't know if it would work or not. Everything I've read indicates that usually more is not better and they can be spooked fairly...
Ken,
One of these days I'm going to have to try and fish for steelies. Good talking to you this morning. As we discussed, I'll be up in Moscow next weekend and the weekend after that. From that...
Jason,
It was great to finally meet you today at the sportsman show. Thanks for the great kokanee conversation and the recommendations. Safe trip back home.
Bob
I'll be there one of the days...probably on Saturday. Hope to see you all there.
Bob
Glad to hear you are back Ken and sounds like an awesome trip. I'll call you soon. Want to know if you are interested in going to my retirement ceremony and/or the party after. Talk to you soon.

I wondered how you would mount a kicker to a toon. That is awesome. Making me think I may be spending some more money on that boat...doh!
Nice fish Ken. Hope to see you up on Anderson Ranch when things start hopping up there. Have a safe trip.
Bob
Awesome...hope to see you there Jason.

This is what I did to my boat...works very well for us. Hope it gives you an idea for your boat's configuration. My posts/pics are toward the bottom of the first page of the below link.

Nice job Ken. Sent you a PM a little while ago. We need to go out again. I'll be retiring from the Air Force in about three months so should have a little extra time for fishing.
