  1. Hi Sea Dog:

I used to be a fan of rattles because they work. However, sonic action in a metal jig works far-better. As a result, I don't bother with rattles anymore. The 1/4, 1/3 & 1/2 oz original Kandlefish have the best sonic action because they almost work as a blade bait (strong vibration on the lift) on the fall. I hear that Yellow Bird Products is coming out with another version of its Kandlefish next year called the Sonic Kandlefish. Anyway, in your 30-35 ft of water, jig a 1/3 oz glow-in-the-dark Kandlefish and I think you will be very happy! PS: This finish also works great for me during daylight hours. At nite, hit it with a bright light for the glow effect. Good catching...Capt. Pete
  2. Hello Capt. Pete!

    Capt. K here (aka. SeaDog).
    Question?
Have you ever used a vertical rattle jig, such as a Northland Buckshot jig with a dropper in late August to attract and annoy Kokes into striking?
Right now here in Connecticut (night fishing) I can see the schools of Kokes cruising between 30-35 ft. (They are just starting to change) yet won't bite as readily as they did 1-2 weeks ago.
It's like a light switch was flipped to OFF!
    Fustrating to say the least!
Any other suggestions (other than what you just posted on jigging) you have would be appreciated!

    Capt. K (SeaDog)
